Hi, two questions. First, where is the calculation that results in an estimate of 15.5 days with at least 1 inch of snow? The sum of the yearly amounts in your table is 5.2 + 2.3 +1.1 + .4 = 9 days with at least 1 inch of snow. Second, why assume PennDOT's number is the right baseline to compute the correct number of Philadelphia snowplows? After all, who knows how or why PennDOT has come to have the number of snowplows it does.

Thanks for cathing the mistake. The math is correct. The table was the wrong one. I have now corrected it. Regarding the PennDOT baseline, you have to start somewhere. If you have a different baseline, I am happy to incorporate it.
