I don’t have many rules regarding the way I write these weekly posts, but every time two topics I like collide, I have to write about the event that led to their intersection.
When I read your newsletter I felt excited and yet expecting disappointment--I had contacted a few similar custom shirts companies before, and they always didn't offer options for women. Buying shirts has always been a struggle for me because women's clothes are dominated by fast fashion (speaking of quality control... :S)
Still, I gave Proper Cloth a shot. Sent them a quick chat message and got a reply in within minutes. They *do* offer options for women!
Here's their response in case it's useful for any readers of Gad with similar thoughts:

Good Morning Christin,
Thank you for reaching out about this. I'm happy to help.
Although our patterns are designed for a mans body, and by that I mean they generally have a "boyfriend style" fit in that they tend to fit a bit boxier, we can definitely make shirts for women.
We have several women customers, including our Proper Cloth team members, like myself, who tailor our shirts to our custom fit.
We have created more fitted button downs and we have Size Profiles for when we want a more loose boxy cut :)
One thing I found useful was using darts to decrease the boxiness of the fit if I'm going for a more tailored fitted look around the waist and I measured shirts that fit me well to try and create my size. You can Click Here and use our shirt measuring guide if this helps when you are creating a size.
Regardless of how you create your size, we do have women Virtual Fit Specialists who can assist you as well and we have the Perfect Fit Guarantee and a great Return Policy/Alteration.
I hope that I was able to help you today. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us. Have a lovely day!
Is it likely the larger the number of customers affected and the cost of replacement may lead to a behavior exhibited by Apple? Hopefully that will not happen at Propershirt down the road and they preserve their culture of quality
